Two 'local heroes', Betsy Bruce,12 and Stewie Bruce, 10, have shown incredible grit and determination by tackling the Gelt Gladiator mud run – all for a fantastic cause!

The intrepid duo from Carlisle set their sights on raising £200 for The Happy Mums Foundation, a social enterprise dedicated to supporting mums and mums-to-be in the local community with their mental health.

Not only did they bravely conquer the mud-filled obstacles, but they smashed their fundraising target, collecting an impressive £310.

"It was tough but a lot of fun to take part in the Gelt Gladiator for Happy Mums, my mum has worked with them for a few years now and we feel really proud to be able to support them, said Betsy.

"Thank you to all our friends and family who sponsored us"

Stewie added: "I even lost my trainer at one point, but I managed to find it again. It was definitely very muddy.”
