A WEST Cumbrian amateur group will bring a hit West End play to Workington -as they take on The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Workington Amateur Operatic Society's Adult Section are currently in rehearsals for their upcoming performances of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Following on from the smash hits of last years Phantom of the Opera and The Little Mermaid in March, WAOS anticipate yet another roaring success.

The musical follows Quasimodo, the titular character, as he fights against the torment of being kept hidden from the outside world by his adopted Father figure, Frollo, meeting friends a long the way such as Romani Gypsy, Esmeralda. With well known songs such as ‘God Help the Outcasts’, this show is set to tug at heart strings and inspire us to dream.

Quasimodo will be played by stage regular Andrew McMinn with Esmeralda, being played by Jasmin Smith winner of this years NODA North West’s Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Carlotta in Phantom of the Opera. Jack Pike as Frollo, Kim Brough as Clopin and Andy White as Phoebus complete the main cast.

WAOS promise for another standout performance so don't miss out on your tickets.

The Hunchback of Notre Damn will run from October,15-19 and tickets can be bought from the Carnegie Website and Box Office.
