A Carlisle care home manager won an inter-company cook-off competition.

Alison Donaldson, managing director of Lanercost House representing Barchester's North West and Midlands Division, joined the culinary fray by going against managing directors from four other divisions.

The cook-off raised a whopping £24,595 for Barchester's Charitable Foundation in a contest against the healthcare company's four other division heads.

Notably, the charity aids vulnerable and disabled individuals by investing in their communities, mainly focused on enhancing mobility and lifestyle.

Every year, the foundation gives substantial amounts to individuals, community sections, and charities across Wales, England, and Scotland.

Only last year, the foundation reached a remarkable milestone, donating £225,000 to assist 160 groups and charities and 87 individuals in just one year.
