A canon at Carlisle Cathedral is set to publish his first children's adventure book later this year.
Canon Michael Manley was recently appointed to a new role as Vicar of St Thomas and will deliver his final service in Carlisle in late September.
However, September will also see the release of the children's adventure book Robbie and the Agents of Corliol, which is now available for pre-order.
The book tells the story of Robbie, a very ordinary boy with a very extraordinary talent, and lives in the city of Corliol.
He loves astronomy, and often sneaks into his local cathedral grounds to search the stars.
One night he stumbles upon a whole new world, and encounters one of the Guardians of Corliol – a talking mouse called Jan.
He soon finds himself on a dangerous quest to save the star-light ceiling from a gang of criminal cats, led by the sinister Satan and his sidekick Lucifer.
Will Robbie be able to help the mice defeat them – and avoid his father finding out where he’s been all night?
Canon Michael will be signing copies of his book at a special book launch after the morning service on Sunday 1 September.
