Mountain rescuers were called out to help recover an injured sheep with bite marks.

Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said a farmer requested help at 2.32pm yesterday (July 22) because their sheep was stuck on a ledge at the bottom of Fisherplace Gill.

“Sadly, the sheep had bite marks so was likely to have been the victim of a dog attack.

“Three team members attended and managed to sling the sheep and get it back up to the path and down to the farm,” a spokesperson from the mountain rescue team said.
