Carlisle and Cumbria Artists are launching their 55th Annual Exhibition at Carlisle Cathedral on July 27.
Hosting hundreds of original paintings and cards created by 60 artists from the area, the exhibition promises to showcase landscapes, still life and abstract work in a variety of techniques and styles.
The event is running every day from 10am to 4pm until August 11. Chair of Carlisle and Cumbria Artists, Charlie Egerton, said: "This year will be the 55th Exhibition and promises to be even more exciting than ever.
"Entry is FREE and there is something for everyone - whatever your taste or budget.
"Do come and visit us, you will be assured of a warm welcome.
"The surplus from the exhibition will be donated to Carlisle Cathedral for its general upkeep, so any purchase you do make contributes to a good cause."
The tradition of these exhibitions began in 1968 at the old Town Hall.
Organised by the late Mrs Molly Mawson to raise funds to save the 15th-century Tithe Barn, the inaugural event was so well received, the Dean requested future exhibitions to raise money for the Cathedral.
Since then, it has remained an annual fixture in the city’s social calendar, raising valuable funds for the Cathedral and local charities.
The entrance to the Fratry, the exhibit's venue, can be found via the Cathedral Café.
