CUMBRIA Police are investigating a burglary which caused 'significant damage' to a Carlisle shop. 

Cumbria Police received a report just before 2 am on Tuesday, July 23, of a burglary at a premises on Scotch Street, Carlisle.

A Cumbria Police spokesperson said: "Significant damage was caused to the front window and a number of mobile phones were stolen from within the building.

"Enquires are ongoing."
