Workington Reds have confirmed the signing of Montserrat international Jamie Allen - the player who appeared on Love Island two years ago.
Forward Allen, 29, has become the latest pre-season recruit at Borough Park.
The former Fleetwood Town, Barrow, Southport, Dover Athletic and FC Halifax Town player joins the Reds just over two weeks before the new season.
Allen hit the headlines in July 2022 when, whilst on the books of Halifax and having just signed a new deal at The Shay, he left the squad during pre-season in order to appear as a contestant in the eighth series of hit ITV show Love Island.
The player entered the show's villa on day 45 and was dumped from the island on day 51, and upon his return he left Halifax by mutual consent.

He has since played for AFC Telford United and Curzon Ashton, while the Preston-born player has 12 caps for Montserrat, first playing for the nation - for whom he qualifies through his grandmother - in 2019.
Allen featured as a trialist in Workington's 1-1 pre-season draw with Morecambe last Saturday and has since signed a deal with the club ahead of the new Northern Premier League Premier Division campaign, which starts on August 10.
Reds boss Fell, speaking on the club website, said of Allen: "Jamie gives us another dynamic attacking option.
"He has great experience of the National League and feels we'll be a great environment for him to enjoy his football and help him progress.
"He's a great age, technically outstanding and has pace to burn - he'll be a great addition."
Allen said he wants to help the Borough Park club push for promotion in 2024/25 and added: "Workington's a massive club, it goes without saying - it's got a lot of history.
"[Fans] can expect me to be really direct and hopefully chip in with loads of goals and assists."
