NORTH Cumbria Integrated Care is encouraging people to take part in their 'Step Into Work' scheme.

The scheme will take place at West Cumberland Hospital and will run for several weeks.

It is aimed at those who would like to work for the NHS but who don't have the necessary qualifications.

In a post on social media, NCIC wrote: "Do you want to work in the NHS but don't have the right qualifications?

"Our 'Step into work' programme would be perfect for you. Taking place at West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven

"The 8-week programme will start on September 16 and will run 3 days per week. It includes targeted training and a practical work placement on a ward shadowing other health care assistants."

Applicants must meet the following criteria: they must be aged 18 or over, be able to prove their right to work in the UK, be self-motivated and caring, be willing to potentially work long hours and shifts, and be keen to learn and have good communication skills.

The NCIC added: "Upon successful completion of the programme, candidates will secure a guaranteed interview with us for a health care assistant position on our bank register."
