Andrew Jenkins made his final, poignant journey to Brunton Park this morning.

The funeral cortege for the great Carlisle United owner and chairman, who died earlier this month, visited the Blues' ground before the service.

Scores of supporters and club staff gathered on the west side of United's ground to pay their respects to Mr Jenkins.

Players and coaching staff also stood together on the bank above Carlisle's training pitch to greet the funeral cars as they did a lap of the ground.

As the vehicles moved from the east to the west side of Brunton Park, the hearse carrying Mr Jenkins' coffin paused outside the ground's main entrance.

Two Carlisle United flags were draped over the rear of the coffin, with floral tributes also accompanying Mr Jenkins on his final journey.

As the vehicles then continued on their way around the ground and out of Brunton Park, applause broke out among those in attendance.

The cortege then moved on to Rosehill to visit Pioneer Foodservice, Mr Jenkins' business, before continuing to Wetheral for the funeral service in his home village's parish church.

A host of staff and officials from Carlisle United and Pioneer attended the service, along with several former Blues players, managers, staff and supporters.
