A popular West Cumbrian sweet shop is celebrating its first anniversary.
Candy Cabs Cumbria was opened by Dave Hampson and Louise Millful from Cleator Moor in 2023, with the business based in Egremont, above Emma's Bakes on Main Street.
Since opening the pair have outgrown their original location and have become national favorites, with Candy Cabs delivering sweets to every corner of the UK.
Closer to home Dave and Louise also hand deliver sweets from Workington to Seascale and supply local businesses such as The Ritz Cinema, The Gaiety, and Game On!After reaching the milestone, Dave and Louise were on hand to express their delight.
They said: "We are extremely excited to reach the one-year mark, we started off with just a few shelves of sweets, we gained a very quick reputation, we had an industrial unit at Phoenix court in Cleator Moor and outgrew that in January this year.
"We opened our shop in Egremont in February this year and the past six months have been crazy, we have grown rapidly and become extremely popular."
The pair also described how they are keeping up with global sweet trends and making sure that they have everything in store for every kind of sweet tooth as well as supporting other local organisations.
He said: "We are an old-fashioned style sweet shop with approximately 130 jars of sweets with a modern twist.
"Due to times changing the USA and Asian sweet market has become very popular so we stock a lot of these products - we also have a wide range of Freeze Dried.
"We donate monthly to local amateur sports teams and charities working closely with Bee Unique, Hospice at Home, and local schools.
"The support locally has been tremendous and we have orders going now all over the UK, all parts of the UK have ordered from us, we thrive on interaction with customers."
