STAFF at a supermarket in Cumbria have been fundraising for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.
Colleagues at Asda in Workington decided to show their support for the local charity.
Ann Quayle, a staff member, decided to start the initiative and was supported by her colleagues.
In a post on social media, Hospice at Home wrote: "Thank you to staff at Asda Workington and members of Mrs Q’s Corner for raising a fantastic £1,039 over the past few months.
"Ann Quayle, who works in the Workington store, decided to fundraise for Hospice at Home West Cumbria as a way to say thank you for the invaluable help we gave in caring for her husband Ron, who died last October.
"With the support of Asda’s Community Champion Lesley Johnson, colleagues in store, and Mrs Q’s Corner members, the grand total was raised through a sponsored walk, a Hospice stall in store, and a tombola.
"Ann would like to thank everyone involved and all the ASDA customers who managed to fill the collection bucket and send “a special thank you to Hospice at Home West Cumbria for all you do."
