Nearly £500 has been raised for Maryport Rescue thanks to the efforts of local businesses in 'Cockermouth Charities Week'.
The charity week ran from July 17 until July 22 and saw a number of local businesses getting involved to raise vital funds for the charity, which provides 24-hour land and sea rescue services.
Businesses included Lakes Electrical, Goody 2 Shoes, County Fruit Store, W. Lindsay & Sons Butchers, Desire and S.R Shoes, with all contributing towards a fantastic final total.
On Facebook, Maryport Rescue paid tribute to the efforts of the local community this month, which saw £463.54 raised overall.
They wrote: "Wow. A huge thank you to each of the businesses that have taken part in this years 'Cockermouth Charities Week' who together, have raised Maryport Rescue a very generous £463.54.
"These donations will contribute to our running costs, training requirements and operational support required to keep the organisation available throughout the year, to those that are in need."
