Cumbrian swimming star Luke Greenbank launches his bid for Olympic glory tomorrow.
The Cockermouth swimmer is preparing to begin his campaign in the men's 200m backstroke at the Paris 2024 Games.
Greenbank, a double medallist in the previous Games in Tokyo, is due to compete in the heats on Wednesday morning.
The Cumbrian is joined by Team GB team-mate Oliver Morgan in the event, with the duo aiming to make it through to the semi-finals, which are held on Wednesday evening, and then Thursday’s final.
Greenbank goes in heat four along with his rivals in the head including Morgan, Hungary's Hubert Kos and America's Keaton Jones.
The Cumbrian's most recent outing saw the 26-year-old win silver in the Sette Colli Trophy in Italy.
In Paris's La Defense Arena, the Cumbrian will be hoping to be in the medal running alongside a number of highly-rated competitors.
American's Ryan Murphy will also be among the favourites, having won silver at the Tokyo Games when he finished ahead of Greenbank.
Murphy also won gold in the 100m backstroke in Tokyo.
Greenbank, as well as taking 200m bronze in Tokyo, also helped Team GB to silver in the 4x100m medley.
Italy's Matteo Restivo, who won gold in Sette Colli ahead of former Cockermouth Swimming Club star Greenbank, is also in the field in France.
The heats get under way from 10.21am with the semi-finals starting at 8.37pm. Thursday's final is scheduled for 7.37pm.
