Excitement is building ahead of the rearranged Hammond’s Pond gala on Sunday, July 28.

The gala, which was postponed due to inclement weather in May, is set to bring hundreds of people to the park for the festivities.

The event will also see the return of the beloved model railway line at Hammond’s Pond which has been out of action.

"We will be having our grand re-opening of the railway on the same day as the re-arranged gala day at Hammond’s Pond on Sunday, July 28," the Hammond’s Pond Railway group said.

"It would mean the world to us if you could all come down and show your support to the railway and the friends of Hammond's Pond.

"We have missed seeing all your smiling faces riding around our little railway in what is one of the last and in our opinion, the nicest Victorian parks in Cumbria."

Attendees will also enjoy entertainment from Tanzanian Acrobats, Northern Heights, Razzamataz, Express Dance Studios, Drum Nation, Char, and the Lazy River Jazz Band along with children's entertainers, a fun fair, an owl magic display, archery, face painters, and balloon modelling.
