A competition has been won to name a large sculpture of a shark at Bell’s Fishmonger in Carlisle.
The award-winning fishmonger had been running a competition on social media to name the large sculpture which arrived at the shop last month.
After a large public vote, the clear winner – with more than 50 per cent of the vote – went to Emily Whittington’s suggestion of ‘Fin Diesel’ after the Fast and Furious actor.
The name came top of a number of suggestions including Finlay, Finderella, Tony Shark and Feargal Sharkey.
Tony Bell, owner of the business, said he bought it in April from a man who ran a fish and chip shop in Castleford, West Yorkshire.

Bringing it north and stopping at service stations for comfort breaks resulted in people getting a closer look and taking photos with it.
After arriving in Cumbria, the team at Seahorse Supplies in Brampton gave it a fresh paint job and applied the branding to the trailer.
‘Fin Diesel’ is available to have a look at outside Bell’s Fishmongers on the Kingstown Industrial Estate.
