POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a two-vehicle collision on the A684 junction with the M6.

The incident occurred at 2.40pm yesterday, July 28.

The crash involved a grey Audi A3 and a Kawasaki motorcycle. Sadly, the pillion rider on the motorcycle died at the scene.

The rider of the motorcycle was airlifted to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The occupants of the Audi were taken to the hospital for a check-up.

The road remains closed while a forensic collision investigation is carried out.
