A Lake District-based entrepreneur is chasing confectionary perfection with her business - Fudge My Life.
Cheryl Hamilton was born and raised in South Africa before emigrating to Grange-over-Sands and is now looking to satisfy local sweet teeth with her homemade fudge business.
Cheryl is also a busy mum and has built her business around her three daughters, with her explaining more about her passion for business and why she settled on fudge making after moving to the north of England.
She said: " I was born and raised in South Africa, and trained as a Chef and Hotel Manager in Durban.
"I have an insatiable passion for confectionery, and pastry, and have always been an entrepreneur for as long as I could understand the concept of business.
Being a mom to three girls, I wanted to find something I could do, that would work around their busy schedules.
So I leaned on my knowledge of food science, and passion for quality confection, and set off to create the perfect fudge.
Cheryl's love for fudge came from her childhood and after starting her business she worked tirelessly to recreate her favourite-tasting fudge.
She said: "I spent hours tweaking an old Zimbabwean recipe, trying to recreate a very specific fudge I used to eat as a child.
"This fudge was only available at the school Tuck Shop, and I remember keeping all my coins, just to buy a single incredible, melt-in-your-mouth, decadent, piece of fudge, 16 batches later, and a whole lot of profanity, fudge my life was born.
"This is more than just a business to me, it is my passion and talent all rolled into one, beautiful, pink package.
"Each piece is made with so much love and care and each batch is personally quality tested by me."
