CUMBRIA Police responded to reports of tents being dumped in Whitehaven.
Officers were alerted to three tents that were left dumped on the rugby pitch at Kells.
The police have seized the tents, and they are being kept at the police station in Whitehaven.
In a post on social media, Cumbria Police wrote: "A polite message to the owners of these three tents which have been left on the rugby ground on Kells last night.
"If you would like your tents back then you can find them at Whitehaven Police Station where they will be kept safe for the next 7 days. They will be released in exchange for a reasonable excuse as to why their owner felt it was acceptable to dump them in a public space.
"PC 3157 is looking forward to hearing your rationale and or seeing you."
