MOUNTAIN rescue teams were called out to a walker in their late 70's who was struggling to continue on a walk in Buttermere over the weekend.
On Sunday, July 28 member of Cockermouth and Keswick Mountain Rescue Teams were called out to Buttermere Moss, Robinson at around 5:35pm to a walker in their late 70's who was struggling to continue.
In a statement on social media, Cockermouth MRT said: "The team were called late on Sunday afternoon to walker in their late 70s who was struggling to continue.
"They were located around Buttermere Moss, just below the slopes of Robinson, and when the first team members arrived, it was clear that a big day on the fells in the heat had taken its toll, and a stretcher ride off the hill was going to be needed.
"Due to low numbers of team members available (who lets them go off on holiday?!) we asked for assistance from Keswick Mountain Rescue Team - a big thank you to them for their help."
