The Stars of Tomorrow Ball, a charity event, is set to raise funds for cared for and care experienced children and young people.

This event, to be held on September 6 at Energus in Workington, aims to raise money for a newly created Enrichment Fund.

The glamorous event will be hosted by Cumbria Youth Alliance, Inspira and Cumberland Council, and is expected to attract many from the business community.

The black-tie evening will include a gourmet dinner, live entertainment, and keynote speeches.

The money raised will provide cared for and care experienced children and young people with opportunities to do things that they may struggle to do without the support of a family network.

This includes things like travel, education, training, and access to arts and culture.

Cllr Emma Williamson, deputy leader for Cumberland Council and executive member for Children and Family Wellbeing and Housing, said: "We believe every young person deserves the chance to realise their full potential, regardless of their background.

"The fund will help to provide the support of 'the bank of Mam and Dad' so young people can access opportunities that their friends might be able to take for granted and help level the playing field."

Becky Wolstenholme, CEO of Cumbria Youth Alliance, said: "The Stars of Tomorrow Ball promises to be an incredible night of entertainment but it is not just a celebration, but a call to action for our community to come together and invest in the futures of our most vulnerable youth.

"With the support of Cumberland’s business community, we can create opportunities that will have a transformative impact for years to come."

Tickets for the Stars of Tomorrow Ball are available now, along with a few remaining sponsorship packages.

Deborah Naylor, area operations manager for Inspira, said: “Helping young people make important decision about their futures is a cornerstone of Inspira’s work.

"This fund can help with some of the added extras that might make all the difference, it’s a great opportunity for businesses to support the future workforce and help young people.”
