POPULAR British bake off and TV star Mel Giedroyc popped into a Lake District pub -coming third alongside the rest of her team in a quiz held at the venue.
The TV presenter and comedian visited the Pooley Bridge Inn near Penrith for the pub's quiz night, whilst visiting family friends in the area.
Owners at the Pooley Bridge Inn said the star was a said to be 'an absolute delight' during her visit and even enjoyed a meal in the restaurant.
Sarah and the team at the Pooley Bridge Inn said: "We had the pleasure of meeting this joy last night who took part in our quiz and came 3rd Mel Giedroyc. An Absolute delight, highly competitive ( the team she was in were family friends of hers but also are regulars who have a reputation of being serious quizzers so you were a perfect fit for that team).
"AND just for future reference I will be quoting you for further quiz advertisements: ‘The best quiz I’ve ever been to’, ‘ the best host I’ve ever seen’.
"Mel thank your for your compliments especially of our team and our food thank you for making our Amy’s day.
"We hope to welcome you back again soon."
