Auction House Cumbria's live auction on Thursday 18th July was held at The Halston, Carlisle.

Twenty-four lots were sold, with over £2 million raised on behalf of Auction House Cumbria's clients.

Several properties sold well over their initial guide price, including Durdar Road in Carlisle a detached family home which sold for £50,000 above the guide. As did The Myre, at Roadhead, a popular lot based on its location and the land and buildings that this property had to offer. Initially guided at £190,000, the property sold in the room for £215,000 – with plenty of competitive bidding. These types of properties demonstrate how in-room bidding really does have a positive impact on the prices we can achieve for our sellers in a live auction environment. Three North Street in Maryport was another popular lot, a terraced property in need of modernisation achieved £29,000 above the guide on the day.

Our next auction is scheduled for Thursday, September 5th, with only three more dates left to the end of the year, don’t leave it any longer if you have property or land to sell, why not contact us for a free valuation.

The upcoming auction dates are:

  • Thursday, October 24

  • Thursday, December 12
