Communities in west Cumbria are encouraged to get together in August to show pride in where they live.

Cumberland Council will be hosting three events across the region next month as part of its Operation Respect initiative.

The events involve community clean-ups, advice, sports, and food plus the local agencies who keep Cumbria safe will be there too.

The next event will be held on Harriston Green in Aspatria on August 6 between 10am-3pm.

Following this will be an event on Windsor Road in Workington on August 8 and another at Mirehouse in Whitehaven on August 21.

Residents will have the opportunity to speak to the police, council, social landlords, and more about any concerns they have.
