CARLISLE United has reaffirmed its commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) by announcing the support of nine EDI volunteers for the 2024/25 season. 

The Blues start their latest League Two campaign with a trip to Gillingham on Saturday, August 10 and supporters will have to wait until the following weekend to watch their side in league action at Brunton Park against Cumbrian rivals Barrow AFC. 

At this match, and throughout the season at Brunton Park the club will be assisted in its fan zones by nine EDI volunteers who will help Blues make their home a 'inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment.' 

These volunteers are Nataly Mason, Charlotte Crosbie, David Gale, David Little, Drew Rothwell, Jane-Ann Clark, Ross Mattinson, Shelley Harrison, and Rebecca Kiggins. 

This group of nine volunteers are represent various charities such as Mencap and, Cumbria Deaf Association and are set to champion fans with various disabilities and conditions.

Teresa Mulholland is Carlisle United's community director of governance, safeguarding and EDI and reaffirmed the club's commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

She said: "Carlisle United are passionate about ensuring that we embrace equality and celebrate diversity, and are committed in fully embedding EDI across all areas of the club - from our players and our staff, to our fans and our local communities.

"We are committed to providing an inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment for our fans, that is free from discrimination.

"We are extremely lucky to have a great skill set of EDI Volunteers; who represent various areas of EDI whom will be present within the fan zone on match days to share their knowledge and experiences."
