Cumbrian clubs set off on the FA Cup trail this weekend.
Penrith and Carlisle City are in action in the extra preliminary round of the famous knockout competition.
City are in action tonight when they go to Whickham.
Dan Kirkup’s side have started the Northern League Division One season with a win and a draw.
They defeated Tow Law Town 2-0 on the opening day before a 3-1 reverse at Newcastle Benfield.
City take on a Whickham side who have lost their first two games in the same division. Kick-off is 7.45pm.
Penrith, meanwhile, host Pickering Town on Saturday as they aim to build on their 100 per cent start to the season.
Darren Edmondson’s side have begun impressively with back-to-back home wins.
The Bonny Blues started with a 3-0 win over Birtley Town before seeing off Seaham Red Star 2-1 in midweek.
Visitors Pickering are in the Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division, where they enjoyed a 4-2 win at Frickley Athletic on the opening day.
Kick-off at the Leo Group Stadium is 3pm.
Northern League new boys Kendal Town, meanwhile, are at home to Guisborough Town on Saturday.
Victory for the Cumbrian clubs would earn them £1,125 in prize money with losing clubs receiving £375.
Should City make it through they will face a home tie against Dunston in the preliminary round on the weekend of August 17.
Penrith will be at home to Crook Town or Marske United if they progress.
Kendal will host Newcastle Benfield or Knaresborough Town should they get through.
