A Carlisle shopping centre has said that it is 'thrilled' after hosting its first-ever comic convention.
The event featured a comic book-inspired DJ set and costume competition as well as a replica of the batmobile from Tim Burton's Batman, which was released in 1989 and featured Michael Keaton as the caped crusader.
Local comic book fans also had the chance to take their picture with a life-size statue of the Gotham bat.
After the event, The Lanes' centre manager Susan Young expressed her delight at the shopping centre's first comic convention.
She said: "We were thrilled with the response to our first ever 'Lanes Con' and want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us - we’re sure everyone had such a great day given the noise, laughter, all the photos being taken and the lovely comments we have received on our social media and in person.
"Our Cosplay Costume competitions for customers and retailers proved popular so a special thank you to all those that dressed up - all looked fantastic and a big congratulations to the best-dressed winners - Jecki Lon from The Acolyte, Draculaura and Floki from Vikings."
Susan also picked out her favourite moments from the event's debut, with a special mention to a dance battle for the ages between Batman, Spider-Man, and Deadpool.
"The atmosphere was brilliant, there was a real buzz and excitement around the centre and I’ve no doubt this will become a regular fixture in our events calendar."
