Newly elected Josh MacAlister MP has been announced as the guest speaker for the Stars of Tomorrow Ball.
This highly anticipated event, taking place at Energus in Workington on September 6, promises to be a memorable evening.
Mr MacAlister, known for his efforts to improve the lives of children and families, has been selected for the speaking position.
Before his Parliamentary role, Mr MacAlister held the position of executive chair of Foundations, the What Works Centre for Children and Families and was a co-founder of SHiFT.
From his early days as a teacher, his dedication to social care has been clear.
In 2013, he established the charity Frontline and led it for eight years.
Under his direction, the charity made significant advances in children’s social care.
The review, which concluded in May 2022, emphasized listening to those with personal experience and proposed a bold plan to transform children’s social care.
The event will feature performances by a singer, drag act and DJ and will be hosted by Cumbria Youth Alliance, Inspira, and Cumberland Council.
The Ball is a fundraising event for the Enrichment Fund, intended to aid cared-for and care-experienced children and young people.
Money raised will be used for opportunities in travel, education, art, culture, health and wellbeing.
The goal of the Enrichment Fund is to empower these young people, providing them support in building skills and achieving bright futures.
It aspires to level the playing field for those children and youths who face significant challenges.
Tickets for the Stars of Tomorrow Ball are available now.
For those interested in reserving a table, they contact Emma.Williamson@Cumberland.gov.uk or for single tickets, bookings can be made through Eventbrite.
Attend this evening aimed at changing lives and making a positive impact on the future.
