A MAN has been arrested after a woman reported that her ferrets were stolen.
Cumbria Police said the woman contacted them at 7.45am on Thursday, August 1.
They arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of theft and threatening to damage or destroy property.
He was subsequently released on bail while officers continue investigating.
Over the past several days posts about an alleged incident in Carlisle involving the theft of pet ferrets have been shared dozens of times on social media.
