Mountain rescuers were deployed to a Scout group after someone injured their ankle.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT) said they were called out at 12.22pm on August 4 to Middle How, Wythburn, after a 24-year-old man in a Scout group went over on his ankle, likely worsening a previous injury and operation on the same ankle, and was unable to continue.
A spokesperson from KMRT said: "Keswick team members made the long soggy approach up the Wythburn Valley from Steel End, Thirlmere and due to low numbers requested help from Penrith MRT.
"The casualty was assessed, given pain relief and his ankle strapped up and vacuum splinted before the long and often tricky stretcher drag/carry back down to the road.
"Many thanks to the Penrith Mountain Rescue Team members for their invaluable help on this arduous carry-out."
The incident involved 15 KMRT members, six Penrith MRT members, and lasted four hours and 58 minutes.
