Two ill-equipped walkers were helped by a farmer after getting lost.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team (WMRT) said they received a brief call from the police at 8.25pm on August 4 about the walkers having arrived at an Eskdale farm.
The pair had left their vehicle 11 hours prior with no equipment and were lost, so they followed the river out of the valley to find the farm.
"In heavy rain they were understandably cold and tired and in need of energy replenishment," a WMRT spokesperson said.
They added: "The farmers kindly took care of them until a taxi arrived to take them to their desired destination.
"Hopefully, valuable lessons were learned and a good outcome given the poor conditions."
