AS summer begins to come to an end Whitehaven Town Council is now looking ahead to its winter event programme.
The council has organised a range of events throughout November and December to keep the public entertained.
Whitehaven Town Council said: "We've got one more market left of the summer which will be on the last weekend in August, we'll have something on for the children with bouncy castles.
"In November we'll have the annual light switch on and we're hoping to bring a gigantic simulator to the light switch on. It will be like the ones used at festivals in the past, so hopefully there'll be a lot of interest in that.

"On the first Friday in December we'll have our Christmas Markets in St Nicholas Gardens, then, in the evening, we'll have the annual firework display.
"It will be bigger and better than ever before, I would urge everyone to get themselves into the town.
"There's been a great atmosphere this past couple of years, and everyone seems so happy and is chatting with one another."
