DRIVERS in and around Carlisle will have two National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M6, from 8pm August 7 to 6am August 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 43 to J44, Lane 3/2 closure for barrier repairs.
• A7, from 8pm August 19 to 6am August 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 44, Lane closure with switching with lane closures on Rbt for lamp column works.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
