DEVELOPERS behind approved plans for a multi-functional Carlisle food, drink, and entertainment venue are getting ready to open a new location in Newcastle.
The creators will launch their St. James' STACK site, a fan zone composed of 56 recycled shipping containers, from midday on Thursday, August 8.
The 3,000-capacity fan zone will open its doors in time for the Sela Weekender, showcasing two days of pre-season fixtures.
It is hoped the venue will provide a new entertainment hub for fans attending matches at St James' Park.
As for the Carlisle plot, an Operational Management Plan (OMP), for the former Her Majesty's Theatre site on Lowther Street, was submitted by STACK Carlisle, which is run by the Daniele Group, to the council in April this year.
It included trading hours, staffing and noise management, delivery and refuse collection details and a noise complaints procedure.
Applicants have shared that the venue will operate from 8am to midnight Monday through Thursday and Sunday, with a 1am closing time on Fridays and Saturdays.
Applicants have previously stated it will create around 160 jobs for the area.
Original reports suggest the development would begin in 2024.
