A MAN has admitted causing unnecessary suffering to a dog.
Jack Greggain, 27, initially denied a charge of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal but then entered a guilty plea when he appaeared at Workington Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Greggain failed to provide adequate care to the dog in Workington on March 23. Prosecutor Pamela Fee said the dog had ‘suffered’ from not being fed. When a handler came and fed the dog, the food had been ‘guzzled’, the court was told.
The case was adjourned to allow a pre-sentence report to be prepared by the probation service.
Greggain, of Bolam Street, Workington, will be sentenced on August 30. He was granted unconditional bail.
