Workington Reds began life under Mark Fell with defeat on the opening day of the new season.
Reds went down to a 2-0 loss at Guiseley at the start of the Northern Premier League Premier Division campaign.
New-look Workington fell behind in the 42nd minute in Yorkshire through Will Longbottom's free-kick.
A John Lufudu goal 14 minutes from time sealed the points for the Lions, with Jordan Little and Kai Nugent among the chances for Fell's visitors.
Next up for Workington is a home clash with Fell's former club Lancaster City on Tuesday.
It was a good day in the Northern League Division One for Penrith and Carlisle City, meanwhile.
Darren Edmondson's high-flying Penrith got back to winning ways with a 3-1 comeback victory over Tow Law Town.
The north east visitors led at the break through Ben Dibb-Fuller's goal.
But the Bonny Blues hit back through Connor Shields, who struck twice to put Penrith ahead before Luke Hunter made the points safe.

Dan Kirkup's Carlisle City picked up their second win of the campaign with a 2-1 victory at Northallerton Town.
Jordan Irving's early City opener was cancelled out by Jamie Harwood before Kieron Blair restored the visitors' lead.
They held on for the points after Northallerton's Leo Myers was sent off. City sit 11th after two wins and two defeats from their opening games.
Cumbria's third Northern League side, Kendal Town earned a 1-1 draw at Blyth Town with James Bailey on target for the 15th-placed Mintcakes.
Tuesday sees a Cumbrian derby between Kendal Town and Carlisle City.
They face each other at Kendal's Westmorland Flooring Stadium.
The midweek games kick off at 7.45pm.
