A Lake District theatre opened with a new performance of the Sherlock Holmes adventure Hound of the Baskervilles on Friday August 9.
Theatre by the Lake have given Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic story a hilarious makeover, telling the tale of a terrible murder, terrifying family curse and a gigantic beast on the moor in the style of a theatrical comedy.
Sherlock Holmes and his faithful companion Dr Watson aim to unravel the mystery surrounding Sir Charles Baskerville’s death and save the life of the last remaining Baskerville, Sir Henry, before it’s too late.
The Hound of the Baskervilles has gripped imaginations since it first appeared in print in 1901.
This West End hit adaptation from famed physical comedy theatremakers Peepolykus takes all the familiar elements of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic tale through an exhilarating ride of funny performances, witty dialogue and buckets of chaos.
The show runs until September 14, with £12 tickets still available to purchase online.
