A pop-up restaurant serving Michelin-starred food is set to return.

The Cottage in the Wood Supper Club at Low Hall the Lakes takes place on Thursday, September 26, ahead of the flagship Taste Cumbria event in Cockermouth on Saturday, September 28, and Sunday, September 29.

Chef Jack Bond from Cottage in the Wood will create a five-course menu for the event in the 'beautiful surroundings' of Low Hall the Lakes.

The venue is usually used for weddings, with the 'stunning' Loveable Old Barn providing a backdrop for the food and drink experience.

It has been five years since the Cottage in the Wood received its first Michelin star, and the restaurant, which is located in Whinlatter Forest, is now 'firmly embedded' in Cumbria’s fine dining history.

The Supper Club menu will celebrate seasonal produce from the area, and will feature meals such as gin-cured trout, beef with black garlic, and a lemon, honey and elderflower dessert.

Tickets are on sale now, priced £65 per person, including a welcome cocktail.

The top floor of the Loveable Old Barn, where the Supper Club will take place, is only accessible via stairs.

The Taste Cumbria events are run by Cumberland Council and are free to attend, with lots of free children’s activities and additional ticketed events.

Councillor Anne Quilter, Cumberland Council’s executive member for vibrant and healthy places, said: "The Taste Cumbria events are famed for their dining experiences and this promises to be a fabulous treat.

"Cumbria has more Michelin stars per head of population than London and we are proud to see so many of them in Cumberland.

"Our amazing food scene deserves to be celebrated and this Supper Club has all the ingredients to be an exciting dining experience."
