Fifty years have not diminished the ambition of Workington's oldest choir, Carnegie Singers.
Their new season starts on Wednesday 28 August and they are welcoming new members who want to experience the joy of singing with others.
With a musical repertoire ranging from classical to folk, sea shanty, musicals and ABBA, there's something to suit all tastes and to offer a bit of a challenge.

In November the choir is hosting a community concert featuring Handel's Messiah.
On August 28 the Carnegie cafe will be open from 7pm for new members to meet the choir before a relaxed first rehearsal at 7.30. A friendly welcome is guaranteed.
