Keswick Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT) were called out to help a hiker stuck on a steep slope covered in brambles and bracken.
A man out on a multi-day hiking trip was descending towards St John’s in the Vale from Calfhow Pike lost the path and found himself on steep ground full of brambles and bracken.
The man unable to find a safe way out he called for a rescue from KMRT.
A Phone Find alongside very recently gained local knowledge, and aided by the man’s whistles, allowed the team to locate the very grateful man and guide him down to safety.

Eleven team members took one hour and 49 minutes to help the walker.
Earlier in the day the team were called out to a woman with a head injury on Jenkin Hill.
While the Keswick team were making their way up the hill the Great North Air Ambulance arrived who treated and airlifted the woman allowing the team to stand down before reaching the casualty.
