WITH the 20th anniversary of Solfest just around the corner, here’s everything you need to know.
The award-winning family music and arts festival will be returning to the North Lakes Country Park from Thursday (August 22) and will run until Sunday, August 25.
Renowned acts like De La Soul, The Wailers, Peter Hook & The Light, Tom Meighan will headline the event on 10 different music stages.
In line with its family-friendly offering, Solfest also boasts the largest kids area for a festival in Cumbria, offering various workshops, activities, storytelling, and cinema.

Friday: Tom Meighan, The Farm, Toploader, N-Trance, Baghdaddies, Yoko Pwno, Zero
Saturday: Hybrid Minds + Tempza, De La Soul, Republica, SPACE, The Amy Winehouse Band, DJ Hazard
Sunday: The Wailers, The Bluetones, The Alabama 3, Peatbog Faeries, Dutty Moonshine Big Band, Dillinja, Globular

Theme:
The theme for this year is 'Greatest Hits', inviting attendees to donn outfits recollecting the colourful past two decades of Solfest.
Tickets:
While early bird, Tier 1 and Tier 2 adult tickets are already sold out, Adult Weekend Tier 3 (Fri-Mon) tickets are still available at £181.89. Tickets however, are selling quickly.
Day tickets are also still on sale, with a 'pay at the gate' option available if they haven't sold out by then.

Volunteering:
A unique opportunity to experience a festival from behind the scenes has been announced as Solfest is still seeking volunteers ahead of the upcoming festival.
The festival is currently offering positions in numerous areas such as traffic and welcoming, stewards, art and decoration, build and break, catering, and driving among others.

Travelling by car from Carlisle:
Visitors traveling to Solfest from Carlisle need to take the A595 south till Thursby roundabout, and then follow the A596, signed Workington/Aspatria.
Then take a right turn signed Langrigg/Westnewton, and carry on Gillmorend Brow for around 3 miles until the junction with the B5301.
A right turn from here followed by 1.8 miles on the B5301 will lead directly to the Solfest Site.

Train:
Visitors can take a train to Aspatria, the station nearest to the festival.
From here, you can either board the festival's dedicated shuttle bus or hire a taxi.
The shuttle ride will take about 15 minutes.
Car parking:
Car parking facilities are available, operating from 9am until 10pm on Thursday and Friday, 10am until 8.45pm on Saturday, and 10am until 6.30pm on Sunday.
