VANDALS who caused damage to a Brampton-based memorial bench have been condemned.
The bench, which is located at the Brampton Mote, is dedicated to the memory of former Brampton Parish councillor Ian Pennington and was damaged on Tuesday, August 20
The memorial bench has since been repaired, however, in a statement, Brampton Parish Council condemned those responsible for the damage.
In a statement, they said: "The vandalised seat at the Moat that was reported yesterday has now been repaired by the grounds maintenance team.
"We hope that those responsible will think about the distress they have caused the family who bought and paid for this bench as a memorial to their father who was also a parish councillor for many years."
