THE iconic Cheryl has taken to Instagram to thank her fans after enjoying some downtime at a historic Georgian Hall south of Brampton.

Following the triumphant return of Girls Aloud and a few months of gigging, Cheryl sought solace and 'relaxation' in the serene setting at The Country House, in Castle Carrock, on the foothills of the North Pennines.

The pop group, who first shot to fame after winning Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, embarked on a highly anticipated 13-city UK and Ireland arena tour in May and June 2024.

The tour was a tribute to their late friend and bandmate Sarah Harding, who was diagnosed with cancer and died in September 2021, aged 39.

Taking to social media about her stay in front of a crackling fire, Cheryl said: "I have had such a shift in gears for the past week .. sitting in silence with only the occasional nature sounds I have been reflecting a lot on the past few months and I feel so grateful.

"I wanted to thank you again for the amazing experience we shared on this last tour and our subsequent pride show .. the memories will stay with me forever. It has been a true highlight in my life.

"To get to connect with you all again after so long, to be together and share the stage once more with the girls to celebrate Sarah was truly a blessing.

"PS, if you ever need a bit of relaxation and peace there is nowhere better than the English countryside (in my opinion) especially when the sun shines," she wrote.
