The Carlisle and Borders branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society is inviting residents to participate in traditional Scottish dance classes.
The society welcomes newcomers and returning dancers, with no prior experience needed.
Attendees can experience the joy of traditional Scottish dances, similar to those often encountered at weddings or Burns Night celebrations.
The society has introduced a beginners' class this year to ease novices into Scottish country dancing.
Attendees are not obliged to dress in any specific way and are not required to bring a partner.
Comfortable clothing and soft-soled shoes are recommended as the activity is described as 'energetic'.
In North Cumbria and Carlisle, the society promotes a friendly environment where people can learn and enjoy Scottish country dancing for fitness, friendship, and fun.
There are various classes available to choose from.
