People looking at the gates to Harris Park in Cockermouth will have noticed a number of changes of colour in the last few weeks.
The gates, which had previously turned a greenish black due to a moss growth, were in desperate need of maintenance.
Now they are restored to their previous glory and are a smart shiny black with gold detail, thanks to the work of Cockermouth Rotary Club.
President Andy Carter and a team of willing Rotarian helpers spent many hours on the preparation and painting required to produce the result you will see today, which will protect the gates for many years.
The gates were sand blasted by Shane Taylor Welding, who also generously donated the paint used.
