Cumbria-based writer and poet, Katie Hale, is set to discuss her new eco-thriller novel 'The Edge of Solitude' at Carlisle's Cakes and Ale Cafe.
The Bookends event will take place at the Cakes and Ale cafe on September 12 at 7.30pm.
The novel is Katie's second book and centres around the story of Ivy Cunningham, a disgraced environmental activist who travels to Antarctica in an attempt to salvage her reputation as part of a billionaire philanthropist's project to preserve the region.
As the trip progresses, Ivy starts to become suspicious of her fellow passengers and begins to question the true motivation behind the project.
Tickets for the event, including a complimentary drink, are available for purchase from Bookends Carlisle, with options for book-and-ticket or ticket-only.
