A CUMBRIAN music promoter is highly anticipating the return of Oasis.

The 90s indie rockers shocked fans across the globe when they announced they had reunited this week.

Noel and Liam Gallagher have planned a series of tour dates across the UK and Ireland in 2025.

Music promoter Russ Withey of RockWith is delighted with the news.

Having seen the band before they first broke up back in 2008, Withey has been impressed by Oasis' influence on bands across Cumbria, and further afield.

He said: "I'm overwhelmed because it's been 15 years since they've broken up. It seemed all the more unlikely that they were ever going to come back together over the years, then it's just happened out of nowhere.

"I've been in shock, but I'm also thinking how am I going to get tickets for it.

"I remember that I saw them on their very last tour back in 2008 at the NIA in Birmingham."

Russ says that there's a 'big buzz' around Oasis getting back together and that there's also a lot of 90s nostalgia at the moment adding 'it's the right time to make it happen.'

He continued: "Oasis have massively influenced the Cumbrian music scene, particularly guitar bands and other ones in general.

"A lot of the bands you see nowadays probably wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Oasis, they've inspired so many artists who want to have that energy, showmanship, and talent that Oasis have. I don't think they'll ever realise how many bands they've influenced."
