A FORMER chapel in Maryport is headed for auction.
The chapel on Furnace Road is going under the hammer for a guide price of £35,000 - £45,000.
According to the Maryport History website, the former chapel, which is being offered with vacant possession, was built in 1861.
The property, being marketed by Auction House Cumbria, comes with a sizable rear garden and is suitable for a variety of uses, subject to necessary planning approvals.
It also features a main room, kitchen, and water closet, also includes a lower ground floor,
"Interested parties should make their own enquires to Cumberland Council regarding their proposed use of the building," the listing reads.
The auction will be held on September 5 at the Halston Hotel.
