THE weather's looking good as Penrith Fire Station is opening its doors to the public today (August 31).
From 11am to 3pm, attendees will be able to participate in activities including donning actual fire uniforms as well as providing a glimpse into life as a firefighter.
A virtual reality experience is also on offer.
A tombola, raffle draw, and the opportunity to guess Blaze the Bear’s middle name will add an extra layer of fun to the day.
For those looking to relax and enjoy some refreshments, stalls will offer balloon and fire helmets, cakes, ice creams, and even fake tattoos.
Various agencies will also be in attendance, including the Police, Mountain Rescue, Beep Doctors, Great North Air Ambulance Service, Andys Man Club, and Blood Bikes.
For those planning to attend, it is important to note that the Penrith Fire Station is visible from the roundabout, but cannot be exited by car from this area.
Instead, visitors are advised to take the A686 Langwathby exit and follow the signs for the fire station/police headquarters.
