A series of volunteering days aimed at helping disadvantaged people and promoting gardening skills has been announced.
Organised by the Carlisle-based Garden Life Community Action Group, the volunteering days will take place from 10.30am on the first Wednesday of every month at their base on Buchanan Place, CA2 4QF.
Garden Life is a small charity that works with disadvantaged people of all ages who want to either try gardening for fun, to increase skill sets, for fitness, for mental health, or for rehabilitation reasons.
The charity works mainly with young people from the Young Offenders Service and a local specialist school.
Participants will need safety footwear, gardening gloves, and suitable outdoor clothing to take part.
To confirm attendance, people are asked to email shayla.johnston@groundwork.org.uk.
